Pot Pourri
Jackass, Jakartass' grandpop, used to tell me that if it ain't worth saying, then say nothing. That's all well and good, but not if you're trying to write a daily blog.
So, here's a bit of this and a bit of that.
The Munir assassination
This is
an overview from Tempo magazine, a publication banned by Suharto, sued and nearly bankrupted by billionaire thugs, yet as fearless as ever.
Questions raised include the involvement of the Dutch government in the ongoing cover-up, the lack of co-operation between the police, the Attorney General's Office and Department of Justice & Human Rights, and why Munir's wife has been denied a copy of the report of Munir's autopsy
which she authorised.
The
World Socialist Website suggests that the sequence of events implies
behind-the-scenes pressure on Dutch authorities to help put off any police inquiries, if not facilitate a full-scale cover up.
Rain
There's a lengthy post due on the effects of the rainy season. The first really negative impact has been the
plane crash in Solo of a domestic flight, which skidded off the runway in heavy rain. This makes the mini-plague of mosquitoes here rather mundane.
A Browse When Bored
Harmful.org offers a miscellany of "
humor, satire, music, sarcasm, dreams, romance, rap, lyrics, mp3s, rant ..." and a section on how Japanese of your parents' generation learnt about
the birds and the bees.
And that, thanks to the
problems with Blogger, is your lot for yesterday.
