President Jakartass,
facing a political crisis over the blogger's handling of efforts in the early morning wakeup hour, announced yesterday that he would lead his own investigation of what went wrong.
Mr. Jakartass also declared that he was sending Vice-president 'Er Indoors to the local salon to assess recovery operations, and remove "any bureaucratic obstacles that may be preventing us from achieving our goals".
The announcements, made after a kitchen cabinet meeting in the Jakartass House, reflected anxiety that the humanitarian crisis remained grave and that the political threat to the Blogger's legacy and second-term agenda was growing, as more details emerged of the failure of Jakartass' immediate response to the "disasterous" new hair style.
There's nothing like taking responsibility, but
"Mr. Jakartass insisted he would not be drawn into the 'blame game', but echoed an argument his aides have been making - that the primary responsibility lay with state and local authorities."
He did not add that, anyway, he was on holiday at the time.
